21 January 2025— The Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) launched the revamped version of the Youth Leaders in the Diaspora program or YouLeaD at the 8th Association of Philippine Schools Overseas (APSO) Convention held at Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
YouLeaD is a cultural immersion initiative of the Commission aimed to help Filipino youth born abroad or who migrated at a young age who feel disconnected from their cultural roots in discovering/rediscovering their Filipino roots. The program offers an in-depth exploration of Philippine history, language, and cultural practices through lectures and guided tours to significant scenic and historical landmarks.

In the past, participation in the YouLeaD program was limited to partnerships with Filipino organizations and overseas youth groups, primarily targeting specific regions. For 2025, the program will expand to include all Filipino youth aged 16-22, regardless of their location. This expansion aims to increase global participation and foster a more inclusive, diverse community. By broadening its scope, YouLeaD seeks to empower a wider range of young Filipinos with leadership, collaboration, and personal growth opportunities, while enriching the global Filipino network with diverse cultural perspectives.
